National Ordinance Inc M1 Carbine
Anybody ever heard of such a thing? It's not on the list of manufacturers for the US Government version and I can't find the company name anywhere. I'm guessing it's some company that made commercial receivers and this is a parts gun. I bought it for close to nothing so, I'm not worried about being taken for a ride, but I'm getting real curious.

National Ordnance was a Southern Calif. Co. that produced M1 Carbines from the early 60's to the mid 70's.

There is a mixed opinion of the National Ordnance carbines. It has been reported that some of the receivers are not up to GI spec as far as heat treating, etc. MOPO is that you should have the gun checked by a gunsmith before firing. An interesting sidelight, a friend of mine bought one, removed three original GI parts and sold them for more than he paid for the whole gun. 0
