remington 1100 LW----LT--barrel

what is the difference between the LW and the Lt when it comes to the barrel,I have always been told they will not interchange but here lately I have seen several auctions where they list a barrel and state it will fit the LT or the LW. THANKS

  THE FIRST REM. LW HAD A SHORTER BARREL EXTENSION THAN THE LATER LT. LW WERE MADE FROM 1970-76. THE BARRELS WILL NO INTERCHANGE. VGUN1
