AR-15 Paint Jobs

I have given thought to painting the handguards and buttstock of the AR I am currently building but cannot find any information regarding this task. Has anyone here partaken of this endeavor? What kind of paint do you use? I want to get a little wild in the paint scheme as I have an artistic flare for the unusual. NO! No hot pinks or hunter orange. Maybe some snake skin camo or fish scale.

  live in the same state, but wish they werent 7 hours away, thinking of sending them my rifle for a "woodland prestige" finish
