Copper Solids vs Partition Gold
I recently bought an 11-87 SP with a rifled barrel and cantilever mount. I have been using Partion Golds in a berreta and mossberg I had since day one and they always gave me great groups. Today I sighted in the 11-87 and took 2 boxes of gold and 2 boxes of solids. I mistakenly shot my first group with the solids thinking I had the golds in it and I had a nice 2" group at 75 yards. After I noticed this I did another 3 shot with the golds and my groups opened up to about 6". Thinking it was the shooter I ran another 3 through it and i was still at 6" and they are all over, high, left, right. I double checked my mounts and everything was tight so I decided to try 3 solids and got another nice 2" group. Do I just have a Remington that only wants Remington slugs? I read somewhere that Remington's barrels are bored slightly oversize...is this true?

I don't know about the Remington barrels or slugs, but my 1187 SP really likes the Winchester Platinum tipped supreme 400 grain sabot. Less than 2" @ 100 yards, a little cheaper & a little less kick. Mine liked the partition golds better than yours too. 0 -
WITH A RIFLED BARREL YOU SHOULD BUY ALL THE TYPES OF SABOT SLUGS YOU CAN FIND TO FIGURE OUT WHICH GIVES YOU THE BEST GROUPS 0 -
At $12 a box I seriously doubt if thats going to happen. 0
