Do a search here on the forums, you will find ALOT of posts about the Walther P22. I have one, I like it, it doesn't like the real cheap ammo, works great with mini-mags, stingers, Winchester hollow points, does not like American Eagle or Thunderbolt ammo. Great little plinker, like the exposed hammer, accurate enough for plinking, fun little pistol.

The Walther is a perfect pistol for your wife and kids. I use Remington Golden Bullets in mine with no problems.

    Good Luck and Good Shooting!!

Feeds all the remington stuff fine, I just bought one myself not to long ago great little shooter.

The only bad point would be it is a bit louder than a lot of the other .22's or at least from my experiance it is.

Bought the combo kit 2 barrels. Shoots good, had to deburr the feed ramps.
The Browning Buckmark is more accurate.
Dont buy any of the Walther accessories, like the scope mount, it keeps falling off.[:0] The tactical light fits & works good.
For real fun & if the locals will let you, get a AAC Pilot suppresor for it, its super quite with subsonics.[:p]
Sounds like a BB gun going off, except for the bullet impact.

They are a good .22 pistol. Comes with the option of a 3.5" barrel, or a 5" barrel(you can get a combo). The back strap on the grip is interchangable(comes with a different arched piece) Has differnt blades for the front sight. The only thing about this pistol is that it was a little pickey when it comes to ammo. They feed very well with copper plated ammo. For what your talkin about I'm sure they'd suit you just fine.

It seems like somebody has a post about the P22 every week. Do yourself a favor and just buy one, you won't be dissapointed. Not as accurate as a Buckmark or Mark II but its a great plinker.

I have a P22 as well and love it. Mine is a bit picky with the bulk federal rounds. I also have a buckmark which shoots great. Unlike the rest of the posters I shoot better with the P22. I have the 5" and am in the process of getting a supressor. I am getting the one from http://www.tacticalinc.com/ . They just moved their shop about 2hrs away. I went over and test fired one and loved it.

I have a 5 inch bbl P22 that I bought last year. I don't get to shoot it much because my wife always grabs it first. Also, I live in California, and it has just been declared illegal because it has a threaded bbl. Go figure.
