eaa trap gun?

i have 2 eaa baikal over &under shotguns,12ga and the 20ga.i use these for casual skeet shooting.thinking of ordering the single barrel trap model.has anyone shot 1 of these? again this is for casual trap shooting.what do you think?thanks don

    is the bbl over, or, is it the under single bbl? personally, if youre not competing, its a waste of money. the o&u is all you need. the single bbls are just for wt issues and faster swings.

    Yes I fired one at a range recently. Weight and balance was good, action was "OK" and metal finish could have been better on the edges, action was a little stif, but it was new. Wood is common, rib was a little narrow for me. Fired fine, swing was good, hit the birds.
    BUT, I agree with Bobski, why not use the O&U you have now. If it's casual, remember that the drop (point of aim) is quite different on the dedicated trap guns and that "may" mess you up on the other shooting. I see more people (including myself)that have gone with a sporting clays gun and use it for trap and skeet as well.

    ok guys i am kind of new too the skeet and trap game so bear with me here.why is the vent rib on a trap gun so high above the barrel?please explain the difference between my eaa over and under and the trap model.thanks don

    the rib is designed to allow you to look straight at the target but at the same time cause the bbl underneath to be aimed a little higher, so when you pull the trigger, the shot is actually going up where the target 'will' be, instead of where you are looking. this allows you to not lose sight of the target at any given time. additionally, it is to keep the heat waves coming off the bbl from interfering with your sight alignment. and too, a good fitting trap gun is one that wont cause your neck to be bent down to the stock. your stance should be as if youre standing straight w/o your neck bent whatsoever. i/e: gun comes up to your head, not your head down to the gun. btw..you never answered my earlier question .please do so , so i can continue to help you. field guns are designed to shoot where you look with 1/2 of your pellets covering 50% below your line of sight. trap guns shoot where the target will be and the swarm usually is 70% above your line of sight. another feature that does this is a monte carlo stock. does your gun have one?

    bobski i apprec the help,but i guess i really dont understand your question.the eaa trap model is this one ,auction number 24421696.my over and unders are just field grade guns.thanks don

    ok, i see it now. the gun you refered me to is a bonified trap gun designed for trap. your o&u guns are field guns designed for the field and better suited for skeet. heck, for 285.00, and your situation, i'd buy it. youll get better scores. just be warned, that model gun is not the best made gun in the world. but if all you are going to do is pop a box a week, go for it.

    I agree with Bobski that it's a deal (new I have seen them for over $400). This is an attempt to be like the BT99. BUT (there's that word again), it WILL change your sight picture from gun to gun, and that can mess you up sometimes from skeet to trap. I'd still buy it for that amount and try it, not much to lose.
