GREASE ON M1A AND AR15
WOULD ANY OF YOU USE GREASE X LUBRICATION INSTEAD OF OIL ON CERTAIN PARTS OF THIS RIFLES AND IF SO WERE?

M1A....My Army TM for rifle M14 and dated August 1972 just states: All parts subject to friction or movement must be lubricated with a grade of oil recommended for the temperatures being encountered.
That being said I use a dab of M1 Garand grease on the bolt toggle and a tiny bit of oil on the action ways. Do not grease/oil gas piston. This part needs to operate dry.
Your AR15.....I have no clue, don't own one.

I put a little grease on the buffer spring on my AR's and only use oil on the rest. I use an moderately oily patch to wipe down the sufaces of the bolt carrier group. You should acquire Kuleck's AR15 owners manual.

If you want something that works good as well, try Outers black graphite grease. It doesn't take much and it works great on the rails of a semi-suto handgun as well. It lubes and does not cook off like a light oil.

I have always used only oil but this was the topic of conversation at the deer lease the other day with no concensus on what is best0
