45 cal Win 92 photos

Ok guys, don't know if this will work or not but the only way I can figure out how to share the photos (really bad photos) of the 92 that I had is to upload them to a yahoo album. Go to http://photos.yahoo.com/cutbuttranch and click on the winchester 92 album. Let me know if this works.

    Thanks Bert,
    I went and looked at the settings and there was an option to make the files public, so hopefully now you can go there and see the pics of the 92.

    HUH? Where did that rifle come from?
    The 45Long Colt would only work after about 1962-3 when balloon cases were replaced by solid head cases having enough groove for an extractor to engage.

    That Model 92 looks just like those that I looked at last year in one of Little John Gangel's auctions, and they were all chambered for .45 LC.

    I think there were quite a few of them out there. I wish I could find the documentation from the guy that appraised it for us. It was a very interesting piece, probably more interesting than valuable since it had been so adulterated. I thought the notches on the stock were kinda cool, kinda sad too. The gentleman in CA that purchased it from me sent me to a link to one on the host site that was in much poorer condition, but otherwise the same firearm. Boy do I need to get my fanny in gear and get the pics taken of the few others I have for sale, I've been putting it off for two years now, time to get busy!

    Hangfire- Again, those must have been post 1960 conversions to properly extract the older balloon cases. The rims on the original cases were just enough to keep the cartridges from falling into the chambers of the SAA Colt.
    If they actually were an earlier conversion they would have had serious extraction problems. Of course with the newer deep groove solid head cases, that problem goes away. Thats why lever guns were never chambered for the cartridge until relatively recently.
