Mauser i.d.
I have a Mauser that has the words Fabricadearilas and Oviedo on the receiver. It also has the year 1933 on the reciever. It has proof marks with something that looks like an apple in a circle. I am not sure of the spelling of the first word due to the condition of the receiver. I was told it was a 7 x 57, but it has no caliber markings. Could someone tell me about this rifle? Thanks in advance.

What you have is a small ring Spanish Mauser. Should be 7x57 caliber, but may have been converted to something else. "Fabrica de Armas Oveido" I think is what it should say on the reciever crest, Crossed swords maybe. I have one dated 1936, it is a good shooter, but they aren't valuable unless they are in pristine shape. An averge rifle will bring $100.

Ths old gun won't be worth much because someone chopped it pretty good. It looks in good shape as far as the bore, sights and finish go. 0
