would any one know how difficult it would be to get a pistol permit for target shooting in new jersey?

  As a recent escapee, I recall, you go to your local P.D. and apply for a
  Firearms I.D.card. This will enable you to purchase and possess an allowed long arm.
  You apply separately for pistol purchase permits but must first have the basic Firearms Permit.
  Difficulty would depend on your town. If it's Camden or Newark, forget it.
  Unlike NYC you don't have to state a reason or be a member of a club

  There ia no such thing as a carry permit unless you're an LEO or retired LEO.
