22 lr. pistol with silencer

I need advice in order to buy a good 22 lr. semi-auto pistol with silencer combination. Please recommend both pistol and silencer models.

    Silencers are legal in Venezuela? Does that mean you can target shoot in your back yard? If so, I envy you. [:D]

    kinda weird first ''moraroot'' wants advice on a 22 pistol and silencer in this post, then he wants info on converting his 9mm to accept a silencer in another post until he finds out it wont be silent then he goes back on the 22 idea. seems to me someone is wanting a silencer on any pistol awfully bad for some reason.......i just hope its a legal one !

    or maybe I'm just reading more into it, I've always been skeptical on things such as this.

    I've always followed my father's advice: he told me, first to always keep my word and, second, to never insult anybody unintentionally. If I insult you, you can be damn sure I intend to. And, third, he told me not to go around looking for trouble.

    Not to be an ass, but I did a quick google search for gun laws and found this...

    "? Venezuela In July a Venezuelan national and a US citizen placed an order for 150,000 rounds of AK-47 ammunition at a single gun shop in Miami. Although it is legal to buy ammunition in the United States, exporting it requires a special license, which the smugglers did not have. Instead, they listed the cargo as AAA batteries and tried to ship it to Venezuela, which is known to be a source of arms smuggled into Colombia for paramilitary and rebel groups. US Customs arrested the two men after receiving a tip from the gun shop."

    No offense, its just a funny article I found.

    Boy that is funny, think everyone on this forum should be so dilligent. If we are to keep our gun rights pure in the US (politics aside) we need to police our own and expose those who will take advantage. Thanks Outlaws [:)][:)][:)]

    I don't feel insulted. And I am going to tell you a few things about myself so you won't have a mistaken idea about me
    1. I am not desperately looking for a silencer, it's just simply curiosity and taking advantage of a big house outside city limits, where by my country's law I can use for shooting. And as I have legal permits for all my guns I can do so. And believe me if I needed desperetaly a silencer I would build it myself, but my job is not firearms related and don't have any need of doing so.
    2.I was advised not to use a silencer on my 9mm. wich I use for IPSC shooting.
    3. Finally, if someone thinks I am somekind of leftist or some kind of pro-communist guy, he or she is totally mistaken. I was fired from my very good job a year a go simply for not commplying with the new policies in the state owned company wich is presently runned by people with left wing ideas and in that job I was responsible for producing and sending your Lake Charles Refinery around 80,000 bbls.

    4. Because I lived during two years in your country I know some of its laws regarding firearm ownership and use. Believe me, they are very different from ours.

    I own a small farm outside the city and sometimes I do it.

    If you search carefully the news you will find that it was not one , but two containers sent to venezuela not only by two of citizens of this country (it is very dissapointing to see nationals involved in that kind of things)but by US citizens too (even if they are born in Cuba and given hospitality in your country). Believe me, I am the last person to agree with the present goverment in Venezuela wich I know is involved in dealings with the colombian leftist guerrilas and their communist friends, I was fred from my job in the oil industry for not accepting their policies a year ago, and my friend, after fifteen years of hard work and having accopied relatively important positions in it, it's a hard blow to someone.
    No guerrila sympathizer will write in this forum, that's for sure, they hate all that come from the USA and simply I can not do that for some important reasons
    1. Some of my relatives are US citizens.
    2. I admire your country and its legal system
    3. Some of my relatives were killed in the 60's fighting Castro's insurgency here in Venezuela and feel deep respect from them.

    M.Mora, Welcome to the forum and don't be discouraged by one or two responses by someone who makes assumptions and suggests that something is amiss. As you probably have already observed, the name Ask The Experts is very misleading. There is no criteria as to who may respond to a question asked of an "expert". Some really wild and inaccurate responses are posted here.

    I don't think that there is any practical way for you to legally purchase a silencer from the U.S. I can't even take mine out of my home state without federal permission. Providing they are legal to own there, I would say your only possibility would be to find someone that is the firearm import/export business. Unfortunately they probably wouldn't want to bother with just one piece. If they did the cost would be terrible.

    Here is a suggestion. Buy a couple of books on silencer design. Make drawings and take them to good machine shop. If you have a problem with making suitable drawings, e-mail me.
