Necked down 300 Weatherby
Just wondering,is there sucha beast as a 300 weatherby necked to a 6 mm?

Hello yes there is I think it is called a 6MM "DUSTER" or something like that. I think the long range "1000yd" bench rest guys are takeing advanage of the research on 6mm ppc bullets and are tring them in this wildcat. 0 -
I do know there is a 7mm-300 weatherby. and its a buster

The original version was the 244 H&H developed in Britain by necking down the 375 H&H (or the 300 H&H) to use the 6MM bullets. It retained the body taper and an angular neck obviously since the Weatherby radius wasn't part of the European scene yet. There have probably been dozens of variations done on this formula over the years but none have been very prominent.
There is a 7MM-300 Weatherby that gets used for both hunting and target shooting.
Then there is the 6.5-300 WWM (Weatherby Wright Magnum) which was developed for 1000 yard targets but has transitioned to hunting also.
