m-44 help
i was out shooting my m 44 it is of romanian origin and was shooting good , then all of the sudden i made a shot and i cannot get my bolt open it also has a shot bullet case stuck in it , to be procise i can only open the bolt half way , can anyone tell me how to fix this ?? any help welcome thanks

When you get it unstuck, clean that chamber real well. Get a .45 bore brush. Screw it in to a length of cleaning rod. Chuck it into a drill. Remove the bolt and give that chamber a couple minutes of brushing. You could wind a little OOOO steel wool around the brush, put some Hoppes on it and brush it for a few more minutes.
Also you should examine that ammo. Some of the milsurp ammo had lacquered cases, the lacquer will come off into the chamber when you fire it.0 -
Yep, the bolt starts extracting the case as you raise the handle. Stuck bolts on Nagants usually mean fouled chambers, laquered ammo, or excessive crud in the bolt. I'd also take a can of brake cleaner to the bolt (out of the gun of course) and then re-oil it. Sometimes the dirt and crap in the works can make unlocking the bolt a real chore. Good luck

thanks all got, the bolt open and cleaned it , now if it just shoots in the morning [:D]

If it happens again, just drop the steel cleaning rod down the barrel, the bolt will open easily.
