need help with values
I have a few firearms left that I had intended to keep after my husband passed away but it looks like I'm going to need the cash.
The ones left were some of his personal favorites and I need to try to find aproximate value and how to better identifiy them so I can list them for sale.
Item 1 Ruger Browning officers model, four digit serial number, sliding sight
Item 2 Ruger 357 Maximum, never fired, lost the box where do I measure barrel length from, it appears to be a 7 1/2 barrel is that right?
I have a few others but I thought I'd try these two first.

Perhaps you have made a error in identifying "Item 1" ?
Here is one of the excellent pistols from Pancho's collection. Is it the same pistol as your "Item 1"?

Not even close, that item looks like the Ruger 22 in the collection, this firearm is marked fabrique nationale d'arms De Guerre Herstal Belgique and I then, browning (can't tell if it's an s or a five) Depose then multiple emblams, the serial number is 17XX , I'd love to upload a photo if I could figure out how. However it won't be a great pic, my digital doesn't do macro well.
Thanks for your time.

Thanks Rufe, that's it exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't have the stock that fits in the slot on the back of the gun though. How did Pancho highlight the symbols on the gun without harming the gun, chalk?

Rufe,
I am blond, but I promise I'm not as dumb as my first reply seemed!! I didn't click on the link and just looked at the photo of the firearm depicted in your reply..........feeling very blond right now.

First thing to do is to start another topic. Capt. Kirk will be shutting this one down soon, because we have (10) + posts on it.
If your pistol is pre W W II and in factory original condition, it's worth a lot of money.
We can discuss the fine points and particulars on the nw topic.
