Help...Need an aftermarket trigger for Steyr

I have a Tactical Steyr SBS Heavy Barrel PH and I need more, (or rather much less) than what this stock trigger offers. Does anyone know of a good aftermarket trigger offering for my rifles? Thank you

    You might look at Timney. I do not know if they make one for Steyer, as Steyer has a very small market share in the US, but if so, they make great triggers. The trigger on my 96 SBS is really nice. Slightly heavy, but very crisp. Good Luck!

    I am looking to acheive somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.5 to no more than 2 very crisp lbs. The trigger as it is or could be is a little too heavy to effectively make me happy.

    This is from the distributor:

    "The triggers are of the two-stage triggers design (some free travel before engagement) but slightly heavy for some folks, with a factory "thank the lawyer" setting of 3.5 - 4 pounds. In spite of the weight they usually break very cleanly. On the few pieces I know of where the trigger was not up to specs, GSI, the original importer, corrected the problem quickly. The trigger can be safely adjusted down to between 1_ - 2 pounds by a knowledgeable individual."

    There isn't an aftermarket trigger available for the SBS series of rifles so what you need to do is to have the trigger stoned & polished, tuned and adjusted. You will be amazed at the difference between a trigger that has been cleaned up and one from the factory. The Steyr trigger is a good design so there shouldn't be any problem with getting a good tune on it. My suggestion would be to take the rifle to a qualified riflesmith that has a background and experience in triggers. I could suggest Dave Tooley in Gastonia, NC. Maybe that's close enough for you, I don't know. Dave has an excellent reputation in the Long Range shooting venues so I'm sure that he can either do the work or refer you to someone who can.
