ar-15 to full auto
i am looking to get a complete lower assembly for my ar-15 to convert it to full auto, i also want the 3 postion switch on it.
Any idea where to start looking?

Get ready for a mound of paperwork and to play the waiting game with the ATF. I also don't think you can convert a standard AR-15 upper unless you change out the bolt as well, so you may as well buy the whole shebang from a class III dealer. Just do a search for class III dealers in your area and find out if they have any civilian legal registered full auto's or if they know anybody that they can put you in touch with.

There will always be young folks coming into the shooting sports who aren't familiar with the changes of the last several years. So, let's give him the benefit of the doubt.
To answer the question, it can't be done. The lower receiver IS the gun, at least according to federal law. And, legally, you cannot convert a semi-auto lower to full auto (3 round burst is the same thing.) Although you could legally buy a (transferable) lower, they are never available.
As ridowns3 said, all you can do is buy a complete rifle from a Class 3 dealer within your state. We are probably talking about $10,000-15,000. Still interested?

I look at those prices and say I should have bought more. I can remember the days when a Class III rifle was cheaper then a Semi. It was funny though, as soon as that $200.00 stamp was nothing to pay they stopped the manufacture of them. 0
