mainspring housing

Anybody know where I can get an mainspring housing (replacement or an original) for a 1945 Remington Rand 1911? The gun has a parkerized finish.

  Brownells www.brownells.com carries military type mainspring housings ( lanyard loop ). Unfortunately their blued, either your going to have to parkerize it, or have somebody do it for you.

  Try asking your question on the M1911/M1911A1 forum at www.jouster.com. While any generic one will fit, you want one that will look original to your gun. A reparkerized one will not be satisfactory, as it is extremely difficult to match the color of the rest of your gun.
