How can i find out the trigger pull on my factory rem.700 chambered in 300 win mag???

    The typical pull on a factory 700 is between 5-8 lbs. However it can be easily brought down to 2 lbs with no honing or sanding, but this should be done by someone that knows how to do it safely. Or else you may not have a good positive sear engagement.
    If you just want to know the actual pull brownels should have a trigger scale that you can order.

    It is just sooooooo heavy.I find myself flinchin because i cant tell when it is going to fire because im bent over backwards yankin the dang trigger.....no not really but its just really heavy seems tyo take forever to fire.What about an aftermarket trigger????Any suggestions.

    I have a 700 that I adjusted the trigger on and its about 1-1/2 lbs.
    after stoning the sear engagement its smooth as silk.

    In my opinion you dont need an after market trigger. I'm getting 3/8" groups @ 100m in .308win. Whatever you decide, Be safe[:)]

    If you have some lead fish weights you can use them to get an idea what your trigger pull is. I had my Remington 700 factory triggers on my 270 and 308 set to 2 1/2lbs. Their is really no need for a aftermarket trigger if this is to be a hunting rifle.

    I don't approve of political jokes. I've seen too many of them get elected.

    I suggest taking it to a gunsmith and having him check it for you and see if he has a another set to a lighter pull to get an idea on how you like it. It should not be that expensive and you should not need an after market trigger. Mine is set to 1 pound 13 ounces.

    Question: The trigger pull on my Model 700 is too heavy. Can it be lightened?

    Answer: The trigger is adjusted at the FACTORY ONLY. All adjustments to the trigger must be made by the FACTORY OR A REMINGTON AUTHORIZED REPAIR CENTER.

    Go to the Remington web site, Help menu, and Support Center. Do a search on "trigger" and you will see what I have posted.

    I would agree that this should be done by an authorized smith.

    If you dont have any Info on adj the Trigger, Don't Try, take it to a gun smith, If will be cheaper than buying an aftermarket.[8D]

    just have a smith adjust it or replace with an aftermarket trigger - good shooting
