Colt 41 cal revolver

Saw an old Colt 41 cal revolver at the pawn shop today. Only marking was the sn on the bottom and colt emblem on frame. Kind of a splotchy finish with no blueing. Didn't look real close but might it be worth a second look? Priced under $200. I know is not 41 mag, but is it a 41 rim fire or something else? Thanks. Mark

    Type in colt 41 on broker or that other evil auction sight and see if you find anything that looks close to it.... better yet if you or a buddy has a flyadermans [sp] antique firearms book you most likely could pin point it, hope this helps...

    How do you load the cylinder? Does it swing out after sliding a latch?
    Are there any markings on top of the barrel?
    The 41 rim as well as the 41 Long and Short Colt ammo are long obsolete.
    Ammo draws collector prices.

    If the revolver looks like this it's chambered for the 41 Long Colt Cartridge. This was originally a center fire black powder cartridge that dates to the 19th Century. The cartridge is obsolete now, expensive, even if you can find it for sale.

    we have quite a few customers who still shoot and enjoy guns in this chambering, and we always keep a few boxs on the shelf.



    with the recent rise in popularity of SASS / COWBOY ACTION SHOOTING these guns are being used again, and ammo should become more readily available at a better price.

    Until the advent of cowboy action shooting this was true, but now there are new .41 colt cases being manufactured again.
