D/B Shotgun

I have a shotgun made by Wm.R Schaefer of Boston can any one give some info on this maker.

Those who live by the sword will be killed by those who dont. Glyn

  SCHAEFER, William R., Gun Maker, Boston Mass., 1853 to 1916...also assocociated with a company named Warner in 1860 thru 1870...Little is known of The Warner/Schaefer Company to this Author...Nothing Further in My database........

  My reference notes that if the marking is "WM R. Schaefer" it predates 1879. After that date until 1900 it was WM. R. Schaefer & Sons.
  
  High quality actions and Damascus barrels were imported from Europe. They were assembled into completed shotguns by the Schaefers. Some of the finer grades were high dollar guns.

  Thanks for the info.One other question about it any ides what its value woul be,it is in NRA antique excellent condition.
