.22/410 over-under long gun?
When I was a kid in the 50s I saw an over-and-under long gun in .22 LR and 410 shotgun, and I'd sure like to lay my hands on one now. Does anybody remember who made something like that? Thanks!

Probably a Savage Model 24 which was made from 1950 until the early 1960s. These are still around as the Model 24F Predator with a MSRP of around $600 and in several calibers/gauges besides .22 over .410. Original Model 24s can still be located and prices are generally between $100 and $300 depending on condition.

Savage M24; not presently being made- that I'm aware of anyway. They are a good'n; at my hunter education classes I display several types of guns, autos, bolts, falling blocks, pumps, but the one that gets everyone's eye is my M24C-DL, 22Mag/410. 0 -
These were also sold under the Stevens name. Watch for them in the used section of gun shops and in pawn shops. I learned to squirrel hunt with one in 1965. It's still one of my favorite guns.

I'm not sure you'll want to call it a "long" gun, but it is technically NOT a handgun...32" overall length. It's the Springfield Armory M6 Scout. I have one in Stainless Steel and I love it. It's available in .22LR/410 and .22Hornet/410...stainless and blued. Price is around $250 or less. But then, what do I know?0 -
Yep, as mentioned the Savage 24 (or Stevens) and the Springfield M6 are about the only ones I know of. The Springfield is still being made but the old Scout variant had a horrible squeeze trigger but I remember reading about them releasing one with a traditional trigger on it.
One thing I want to suggest is to get the .22lr/20 gauge instead. You can buy several boxes of 20 gauge shells for the price of a single box of .410 ammo and Savage still makes the 24 in 20 gauge.
I sure do like my .22lr/.410 Savage 24 but I bought it to hunt with and it's so nice I almost hate to take it into the woods.

Baikal is making a 22/410 combo gun that EAA is marketing, but they're rare as hen's teeth to find. I've seen one on an auction. No one around here can get one. The catalogs list the dealer's price at $150. That will probably go up if they start importing them in larger numbers.

I once owned a 24V in 222REM/20Ga. It was a beautiful little piece to pack on canoe trips but I believe somewhere in its past someone had cut the barrels to 20". It was a very well done, professional looking job, but sadly the 222 suffered from some accuracy issues...very fussy to particular loads. Anyone thought of the Bronco Rifle. I've only seen pictures of them and don't know anthing of the cal/ga combos on them.

I just looked again. There is a Baikal 22\410 at auction #23916879. It's listed at $195. I didn't realize they came with choke tubes too.

If you find one made by Stevens make sure it has a wood stock. I had one (made about 1940) with a plastic stock they called Tenite. It began to melt and ruined left in a hot attic during summer heat. 0 -
Saw a 22 mag/410 at a gun show today, guy was asking $240 and it was in about 85% condition. I was looking for a 22mag/20 for a friend, so I passed on it. 0
