need info on mauser
I just inherited a mauser. The reciever has the venezuelen crest on it and on the right side of the reciever is the number 15099. On the stock right below the number on the reciever is 3(or 5 or S) 0869. On the bolt is the number 21712. The stock is fairly dark in color. Can anyone tell me more about my mauser?

If it hasn't been rechambered/rebarreled it's chambered for the 7 x 57mm Mauser Cartridge.
Depending on age it could have been made by Mauser in Germany, CZ in Czech. or FN in Belgium.
It sounds like a parts gun, from the varied numbers you gave us.
