Springfield MilSpec 1911 front sight help needed
Does anyone out there know the specifics of the mounting groove for the MilSpec front sight? I own a MilSpec and the front sight removed itself from the gun the last time I shot it. I was unable to find it at all. I called Springfield and they told me it is NOT a dovetail, and is the medium tenon size. I can not find any info on a medium tenon front sight. All I find are narrow and wide tenons. I am hoping to be able to replace the sights with TruGlo TFO fibre optic sights, and need the specs to find out if they will fit. Any help or info appreciated.

Brownells www.brownells.com carries Kings "Medium Tenon", (.082 ), front sights, specifically for SA slides.
