help!! japan A-5

i recently bought a jap A-5 20 mag. that was new in the box. we took it hunting and the safety is backwords for a right hander. never seen one like this before. can it be switched around.? or is this made for a left-hander.? doesn't say anything on the box about it. it has the right serial # on the box.. thank's, chuck..

  A right hand safety would correct this. Available from Browning or
  just about any gunsmith. Not hard to install.

  This was a factory option for left hand shooters. I have an A-5 light 20 that I ordered about 15 years ago with the left hand safety.
