My father whom I did not know very well left me some rifles and one of which I have never heard of before. It is a double barrel with the markings Meriden Fire Arms. Aj Aubrey

Meriden Fire Arms was a subsidiary of Sears Roebuck, that manufactured firearms. They were in business from approximately 1905 until 1918. Believe Aubrey was the general manager.
The firearm your Father left you is a double barrel shotgun. The "Laminated Steel" marking on the barrels probably denotes that the barrels are made from "Damascus" steel, these are unsafe to use modern shotgun shells in.
