Ever hear of this stuff ?

375H&H
Powder , it comes in an 8oz square can marked
with the S&W logo followed by Alcan AL-8
Any load data for the 44 mag and 250 gr.
Keith bullet or data for the 357 mag using 158 gr S.W.C. using this powder ?
I checked in Nosler , Hornady and Sierra load
manuls but couldn't find this powder listed .
Thank Ya Kindly for any help

    Are you really sure you want to use that powder? It dates from the 70's when S & W bought out Alcan and tryed to merge them with Fiocchi, it didn't work out and Alcan went down the tubes.

    The only place I found some loads ( .357 only ) is in Ken Waters "Pet Loads" book. It's a reprint of a magazine article that he wrote in the 70's, when Alcan Powders was still available.

    An older fella at our local gun club gave me 2 lb.
    Maybe it would be better served on a camp fire [B)]

    Used many pounds of Alcan powders back in the 60's and early 70's. Great powders. AL-8 was for heavy 12 gauge loads, also some pistol application. If it is not rusty looking and if you can still smell something that resembles ether it should be good. Best way to dispose of it is down the stool with several flushes.

    Hello SPEER reloading manual # 9 has quite a few loads with AL8 one of them is 38 special 158 gn. bullet with 6.0 gr. of AL 8 also have loads for 44 mag ETC let me know and I will copy some pages and send to you quote:"PRAISE THE HARDBALL GUN"
