Colt collectors, need help with an old box...
I have this old Colt box. It is maroon/burgundy in color, one piece hinged type. The inside lid has a stap in english and spanish about "The Colt Revolver, why it should be your choice". The bottom lid is stamped Colts Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company...". The box also has the brown oil wrap from the Nox Rust Chemical Co., Chicago 1, Illinois. It measures 11 3/4" long x 5" wide x 1 3/4" high. It would seem to me that it would be for a rather larger frame, like a New Service or something, but I just plain don't know. From the markings, I do believe it to be for a DA revolver, and not the SAA, but who knows??????

I appreciate in advance any help you may have regarding what gun came in that box, and roughly the vintage of it.
Thanks, and RKBA!
