filming a movie..need a badge

I'm looking for a full size NYC detective shield, with case, exactly like those seen on NYPD Blue, and/or Law and Order. This is strictly for a theatrical purpose, and lawful to obtain for such a reason.

The main character is a NYC 2nd grade detective, and there will be many close ups of him, his gun and badge, so it must be real or very authentic.

Can anyone advise how to obtain one for this purpose?

How about .... going to a company that supplies movie props? A number of them will even rent the props so you don't have the full expense associated with buying your props.

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!

Like the Man said.....Go to a Prop Company and rent a badge....NO Uniform Supply Company will sell You a Badge unless You get a Police Chief to Sanction said purchase, or a Judge writes you an Order....You might consider going down to the Local Cop Shop and talking to Watch Commander or the Chief if You can get in to see Him....and ask them to Loan You a Badge....? But, don't hold your breath while waiting...

If this is for a movie company then they should already have them.
