Beginners 22 semi auto pistol
Santa is getting my 12 yr old his first semi auto 22 pistol for Christmas. I want low cost but decent quality and accuracy. The price on the Beretta Noes looks good. I would appreciate any feedback from the experts on what they consider a good beginners pistol. Thank you

Ruger 22/45 or MKII are great guns.

Just my opinion, but I think we do kids a dis-service introducing them to semi auto arms until they have mastered single shots and wheel guns (and crosed the 'pube' line). Maybe your boy(?) is far above all other 12 year olds, all mine were[:D],....but they still had to wait for their own auto.
Anyway, all the above are good choices (I went Ruger).
Enjoy your youngun..they grow up real fast.... but for the next few years you won't have to clean any guns, mow any grass, or pack up for camping trips.

I bought my son a 5" P22 for his 10th birthday. He fired 2 or 3 rounds and handed it back to me crying. He was sorry that he couldn't shoot it anymore because it kept jumping in his hands. A year later now and he asked me to trade it in on a new rifle for him. I guess I started him too soon. The good news is that he is really enjoying the NRA Junior Marksmanship Program, but has said he really doesn't want to shoot hands again. As long as he still wants to shoot I'm happy. 0 -

Buy a Browning, You don't have to be a engineer to put it back together. I am refering to ruger.

If it is the boy's first handgun, I would strongly urge a single action revolver such as the Ruger Single Six.

My vote would be a Ruger New Model Single Six in .22 caliber.
This is a simplistic pistol which is easy to operate but is rugged and reliable. It is also accurate and will develop basic gun safety and marksmanship skills. It is also of such quality that it will serve your son the rest his life.
