1911 .22 lr conversion

Have decided to purchase a .22 lr conversion for 1911. Which product seems to be best? Seen info on Marvel and Ciener. Any others on the market? Thanks

    I had the opportunity to fire a Marvel conversion unit last night.
    First 5 round group at 25 yards standing...under 2 inches.

    Shot several groups of 1" or less off of a rest. Unbelievable accuracy.

    Guns only have two enemies: Rust and Liberals....

    I just purchased a Marvel and am very pleased. During my search I tried several types including the Kimber.
    1. Marvel was the most accurate (even the factory call to Kimber indicated that the Marvel would be more accurate then their product)
    2. None of the others could handle a "dot" scope and still cycle.
    3. All others recommended high velosity ammo, Marvel can use any type.
    4. Change out from .45 to .22 was the easiest with the Marvel.
    5. Marvel was the most expensive (about $100 more)except for the Colt version.

    HELLO THERE ARE ONLY 4 TYPES OF CONVERSION UNITS THAT HAVE A WAY OF LOCKING THE BARREL TO FRAME WITHOUT ANY MOVEMENT I WILL GIVE THE 4 LATER IN THIS POST. All the Colt ,Kimber, Ciener etc just use the link pin.If you want to plink they work fine and if you want recoil the colt with floating chamber is designed to have heavier recoil. That said if you want to shoot Bulls-Eye they are not suited The 4 units I know off that will work for target shooting are #1 Day 30X these shot very but have not been made for a number of years if you can find one you will have something that will go up in value. #2 in one made in Germany and sold in this country by Packmyer also out of production shot great but had function tuneing problems. #3 is Marvel thes units shoot great but have an alum. slide this presents a problem in the mag is modified so it does not hold the slide back after the last shot this is not a deal breaker but in N.R.A Timed And Rapid fire I don't want to count my shots .As with any rim fire droping the hammer on a empty chamber is not a good Idear.This leaves unit #4 Kart this by far is the best unit but is out of production. still available on this site & sometimes and at gun shows. quote:Praise the HARDBALL gun"
