Mossberg 22 cal Long Rifle

I have a 22 cal bolt-action rifle model 40 22L.R. Pat'd June 6, 1932. does anybody have any info on this rifle?

  Only thing I can tell you is that the model 40 was made from 1933-1935. I do believe they came with a peep-sight.

  Go to Mossberg's website, click on discontinued models. It will give you the contact info for the Mossberg Collector's Ass'n. They know more about old Mossbergs than the Mossberg family. They're a good source for parts too.
