30 CAL M-1 CARBINE
I have a 30 CAL M-1 CARBINE purchased in 1964 through the NRA from the Rock Island Army Depot and would like to know its approximate value and what all the numbers and letters on this rifle mean. Starting on the front site, left side is RIA. To the rear of the front site on top of the barrel is IBM CORP and then 10 -43 and then what appears to be a flaming bomb. On the front strap holder, which is part of the bayonet attachment, left side is a 0. On the receiver, above the chamber is U S CARBINE and then CAL. 30 M-1. On the rear site, right side is I.R. CO. On receiver in back of rear site is 3737XXX. Just in front of the screw that goes through the stock is ROCK-OLA. On left side of hammer is -U-. On the clip release is M and WA. On the right side of the trigger assembly is SG. The stock is in very good condition. On the pistol grip there is a circled P. On right side in front of strap well is what appears to be a circle within a circle and crossed cannons. On left side in front of the strap well is a square with RIA over EB. On the left side in the strap well is O-RMC. Any help is certainly appreciated. Thank you.
