Dumb question- Passing thought
I know some (like myself) turn the necks of rifle brass for better accuracy. But I have to ask; do match pistol shooters do the same?
IE true up the cases buy turning the out side? (Auto's) that is I know wheel guns would be next to impossible.

Hello I can't answer for everybody but I have tested thousands of rounds of 45acp in many guns from a ransom rest The main thing that makes a big change is mixing brands of brass .If you roll crimp small changes in OAL make for poor groups but taper crimp will correct this problem . wall thickness differances in different brands will mean that if you mix brands they will be different bullet pull this will give poor groups . In loading SWC bullets you can load so that the loaded round head spaces on the shoulder of the bullet ammo can be loaded to Match your barrel. A number of barrel makers have barrels that will shoot lead bullets great but fall down on 230 Gn. ball . If you mic. ball bullets some brands are as small as .450 the best barrel for these are BARSTOW. Hope this answers some of your questions . I have been looking for that magic loading method for 40 PLUS years and some thing are not worth the effort. quote:"PRAISE THE HARDBALL GUN" 0
