qty manufactured Rem 121 Routledge bbl
BobbyWins has very kindly provided me with information on my newest purchase, a Remington 121, pump action .22 smooth bore, with the Routledge counter bore made in June of 1933.
I was hoping that someone might have a reference that tells how many of these were manufactured.

I thought I had seen such a number before, but it sure seems awful low.

Some of this doesn't jive. In the other post you said that the year of production was 1933. Also, my gun has a serial number. Total production of 199,891 does not address how many were made with the Routledge counter bore.
I tried a couple different meta searches using "routledge bore" and other terms, but not finding anything of use.

The Routledge-bored rifles were offered in the late 30's. They keep the shot together in a tighter more consistant pattern. The last 15-17" of the barrel is enlarged to .375".
Remington started production of the Routledge-bore 121's with a 23 1/2" barrel in February 1939. Production stopped in Dec. 1945. They were special order rifles.
I don't know the total production amount but, you might get Roy Marrcot at www.remingtonsociety.com to reply. He's the man.
They made a smooth bore, Routledge-bore and a very rare Loewi bore (skeet).
