Winchester Factory Wood?

Hello rhmc: You don't say anything about your gun itself. Typically Winchester didn't put checkered stocks on a "Plain barrel" gun. Does the barrel have a solid rib or factory vent rib? If your choke is WS-1 it could be a "plain barrel" Skeet version. If you can post a picture, or email me one, I might be able to tell you. Winchester would sell just about any option a customer wanted on a special ordered gun. email (winchester12@msn.com) if you can't post a pic. If your gun is from the 50s, they offered the "Deluxe field" this came with a solid rib and skeet grade wood. They also offered the "Special field", this verision had the Donut post, or Cylinder post, vent rib that they contracted through Simmons. If you can answer the questions it would help. Regards Dave

I will take some pix and send them later today and post s/n. I should have said the gun is just a plain jane in stead of "no deluxe features". Thanks.
