h&r model 999
Hey guys a friend of mine asked me to take a look at a gun that he has it's a H&R Model 999 on the barrell it says End of Chisolm Trail Cenntenial 1867-1967 he also has the original holster that has the same stamping on it. Can anyone tell me what its worth and where I can find a parts schematic on it.

Does anyone know where I could obtain assembly instructions for this gun. Was brought in in a paper sack and I can't get the lifter to hold the hammer back or the hand to turn the cylinder? 0 -
Probably no records on the serials-years in H&R's. At least none of the very few books I have found indicate the records exist or have been available. If no one gets to it sooner, I can at least give you the years of manufacture this evening. 0 -

H&R used the letter codes 'ap' in 1976. the model 999 was introduced in october of 1932 as the model 999 sportsman double action, there was also a model 199 sportsman single action. through out the years there were many variations. the model 999 remained in production after new england firearms took over and was finally discontinued in 1999 after marlin purchased new england firearms.
