year manufactored and what its worth

I have a sears and roebuck Mod 1 Mod. 273.27010 22 cal S L or LR single shot bolt action rifle. It is in mint condition and by far one of the sweetest guns I own. I believe it might have been made by winchester. I would like to know what year this gun was made, and if it is worth anything.

    The Gun Parts crossover list does not show that precise model http://www.e-gunparts.com/crossref.asp However, all of the 273.xx series appear to be Winchesters, so that is probably correct. Now, the bad news. Almost all of the models made for Sears were economy models with plainer wood fixed sights or whatever to keep the price down. Value is driven by two factors: collectors and shooters. The Sears guns have simply never generated collector interests (or very minor collector interest) and thus Sears labeled guns are sold as shooters. I would be pretty safe in estimating the value of your rifle at between $100 and $200 depending upon condition.

    Hello clay514...

    Your rifle was made by Winchester and is the same as their Model 121. There is no way to pin down the exact year of manufacture for the Winchester made Retail store firearms. I suspect that it was made sometime in the 1970s. I also do not know what they sell for, but I would be real surprised if it was worth much more than $100.
