You will soon know why He Dog and I endorse the Burris family of optics.[8D] I understand that the spotter is mediocre at best,..but for free??? who cares[:D] They are far better, IMO than the vx1 or the pro-staff,..by a long shot.

why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
    Got Balistics?

For what my opinion is worth, Leupold! Leupold! Leupold!

A Friend of mine bought that combo, Good Scope and the Spotter is as good or better than my Redfield that I bought 12 years ago (Very disapointed in Redfield spotting scope)[V][V][V]

The fullfield II is better than the VX I and prostaff, I have 3 of them. I would compare them to the VX II or better.

I own and enjoy/use scopes made by Leupold, Bauch n Lomb and recently have bought one of these very Fullfeild II spotting scope packs. I had no problems auctioning off the spotting scope for $40, which made the package even more attractive. I want to point out that all three brands have their good points. Leupold is often a fair bit lighter in weight then most other comparable scopes and mostly just as tough. My BnL 2.5x10x40 M4000 is a really nice long, high performance package. On my 8mmRemMag and 300Wea with 26" barrels and magnum length actions these fit better the most while looking and performing great. The Burris II is a fair bit bulkyier and heavier then the Leupolds while still giving really excellent results. I'd put it as somewhat between the old Vari II and Vari III product lines. Still I wouldn't be mounting the Burris on a light weight Mountain style or ultralight outfit, I have mine on a medium weight rifle and would only try to install them on such.

Both the Leupold and Burris are great scopes. I prefer Leupold because the company is so good at backing them up. Ive got an older Leupold 7.5 fixed on my Winchester 338. It has been on there for 20 years now and that rifle "ate" two Redfields prior to that. I dont much care for the Burris compacts or the newer Leupold VX1's.
