Bert: It's for Mark Christian. He's visiting here next week and wants to compare the accuracy of my PolyTech with his Valmet. After he leaves, I will destroy it.

hatchettman: The PolyTech does not have a scope rail per se (like on the Romanian AKs), but only a 1/4" x 2" base on the left side of the receiver. The AK mount is supposed to slide over this base piece and clamp into place; however, when I lock the clamp it is not tight enough to hold. There is no adjustment in the mount.

if it is a russian psop scope, there is a adjustment on the bottom, it just looks like there isn`t. on the very bottom of the latch over base of the scope, there is a slide washer with a dimple on it, push the washer plate over and in the carry case for the scope, is a funny looking two prong screwdriver, tighten the round nut with the two prong screwdriver to desired tightness, push the slidewasher back over and make sure the dimple fits back into place. slide the scoperail on to the baserail on the lefthand side of the weapon and latch it over, may have to adjust several times till you get the fit you desire!!!

hatchettman: Yes, it is a PSOP 3x9 var. I could not find tool in scope bag, and instructions are in Russian (I think). Will find something else to work and give it a try in the morning. MANY THANKS!

slide it on from the front, and adjust it with that little brass nut, i couldent find that two pronged screwdriver so i just got needlenose pliers and grabbed it, tighten it a little bit at a time and keep trying it. it is a pain in the ass.

I want to see proof... and since I have personally met Mark (and he only lives a few minutes from me), you need to do the dirty deed with him as a witness, then I will personally ask him if you are a true "Man of Your Word"[}:)][:D]

You could also post pictures of your newly mangled scope for our amusement[:o)]

Cripes... I nearly choked to death and died laughing[:D][:D]

Mark... are you going to take this from DWS, or just show up in a blaze orange vest and a pink tu-tu[?][:o)] (the tu-tu just might make it a little easier to use the bidet though[;)])

Hatchettman/others: The adjustment you suggested is not possible with the mount I received. It may well be a SVD mount was sent instead of an AK, but I really don't know the difference. At any rate, the rail bar on the left side of my receiver is too narrow and is not beveled (as required by the mount), and there is no way to adjust mounting rail supplied with scope. Any other suggestions, other than I am SOL? Thanks again.
