Haven't seen the article but no need to sell all that. The Charter Arms Target Bulldog with 4" barrel chronographs 1250 fps with Keiths' load of 17.5 gr 2400 and his 235 gr gas check lead hollowpoint. That's a serious load with 819 ft lbs of energy. Expansion is great. You will need a good rubber grip.
The gun shoots as well as three other 44s I have but is much lighter (19-20 oz).
Read Sixguns by Keith and you'll be a convert.
I don't like 250 grain bullets in high speed 44 special or magnum loads because they're too brutal to this shooter.0 -
I was never sure that the CATB could handle the Keith load, always using my SAA for that but if you have tried it then I may too. I really like the size and grip of the TB. Shortly after I bought mine the cylinder locked up. I sent it back to Charter, they fixed it, sent it back prepaid and nothing was charged. 0 -

Well, I realized just after posting that this belongued to the "General Discussion" . I was letting this topic die but it looks like it sparked some interest.
It just happened that my dream gun would be a packin' triple lock. Barrel cut down flush with the ejector shroud,round fixed sights, bobbed hammer and Tyler Tgrip on stock wood grips. I'm really old school for my age...
I probably will never be able to afford it but that Thunder Ranch .44 is pretty darn close to my sixgun fantasy.
I will probably end up getting a Charter or Taurus but will always dream of the S&W.

Should have made it in stainless....Thunder Ranch name on the gun, add 30% to an already overpriced revolver.
