S & W 617
Looking at S&W 617 .22lr saw used one for $449 how's that price seem? Do they still make 6 shot or are they all 10? Any difference?

They still make both in 4 and 6" barrels. The new ones are tapped for scope mounting, but they also have the new dreaded keylock trigger safety. Some of the older 617s had combat fingergroove stocks, and they also had a 8 3/8" barrel model that has been discontinued. The 617s hold their value well, as do all the older S&W .22s. Model K22,17, 18 etc. I gave more than you mentioned for this like new in the box 90s model 617.

Your in the ballpark with the price. Good revolvers, you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of it!

If it's clean you are saving maybe $100 over the cost of a new one. Great gun and worth every penny. I'd prefer a 6 shot one myself.

The 6" bbl is available in 6 or 10 shot, while the 4" is only 10 shot.
The 8-3/8" bbl is available in .17 Hornady, which is 6 shot.0
