opions on star 9mm 1911 frames

hello all,

now that my wife has confiscated my 9mm (shes new to shooting and loves it) i am in the market for a used 9mm. i wanted to see if the star 9mm that is on the 1911 frame is a good deal at 130 bucks or if its a lorcin/jennings STAY AWAY type.

here in hawaii locating used handguns is liek finding hens teeth. a guy has a used 5906 smith with lots and lots of holster wear for 375. we were hoping to find a used 9mm in the $350 ball park. i know i can get a ruger new for that much but i already have a kp95dc.

  Star started making 9mm Luger caliber Pistols in the late 1920's, ( Model B ). They continued in production with various models chambered for the 9mm for over 60 years. These pistols were used by many Military and Police organizations over that time frame. I guarantee you that the Star isn't some kind of turd like the lorcin/jennings.
  
  $130 is a very good price, be sure it works OK and you have extra magazines. If it's a older model, magazines and spare parts MIGHT be a problem, test fire with the ammo you intend to use in it, using all the magazines.

  anyone know were you can get a new firing pin for a model "B". my friend has one and the firing pin broke.
