    I think if you look at the examples that I posted below, you'll see that there is an 53"A" and a 53 version. The difference is whether it has a floorplate (Model 53) or not (Model 53A, blind magazine). The 53 has the floorplate but the shape of the floorplate is decidedly different from the Post '64 Model 70 floorplate. It is squared off at the front of the floorplate, not rounded like the Post '64 Model 70. Do a search for pictures of the Post '64 floorplate and the Model 53 floorplate and you'll see the difference right away.

    * As an afterthought, you might look into finding a Post '64 floorplate and substitute it for the Model 53 floorplate...Check Brownells or Numerich Arms (e-gunparts)*
