New Mini-30 hi caps??
Has anyone any info on any new production, and hopefully working hi cap mags for the mini-30? Wolf now produces decent cheap ammo that actually works in my gun, whith the grey casings, and am hoping with the Assault Weapons Ban expired that some manufacturer would take advantage. Pretty gun, not accurate, but cheap ammo that now works, I don't know why I didn't sell it before now, but now am considering keeping it. Any info would be appreciated.

Wolf ammo also has steel primers which are very bad for firing pins. Its decent ammo if you clean your gun extremely well after firing and your not shooting an abundance of this stuff.
God gave us all a gift. Have you found yours yet ?0 -
None of the Mini's have ever really been known for thier accuracy. But, they are fun guns none-the-less...
Here's some mags:

I'm sure there are others but I just went here earlier today looking for 10/22 mags so I knew they had 'em. Hope this helps.
Take care. [:)]0 -
Greetings,
The Wolf ammo discussions seem to be one of those things that continue to pop up, but I have never seen any controlled documentation on the performace of the stuff. I seem to remember they put out steel jacketed ammo for a while, then changed to copper (a few ?) years back. I also remember some discussions on the lacquer they used to seal the primer and bullet 'seams'. I believe the cases continue to be of steel construction, but this is the first I have heard about primer problems. Some folks say they have used thousands of rounds without noticable problems while others hold to the thought that you are damaging your gun with every magazine of the stuff.
Have any controlled and/or side by side tests been performed from un-biased sources?0 -

Ruger didn't make high cap mags for the Mini-30 before the ban. Now that the ban is over, they plan to continue with their previous policy of not making high capacity magazines for the public. Although many out there don't care for the magazines made by USA (in general), they were often found to be notably better than the others offered for the Min-30. I still have some of the USA Mini-30 hi-cap magazines available.
It is hard to say who might be making new hi-caps for the Mini-30 and even harder to say which ones will actually work once they are made. From a historical stand point, the USA Min-30 mags worked better than most of the others however.
