baikal 20ga. double barrell (AGGRAVATING THING)
I HAVE A BAIKAL MOD.43 THAT I BOUGHT 3YRS AGO OFF GUN BROKER,WANTED A LIGHT WIEGHT 20 TO SHOOT QUAIL WITH,THOUGHT I HAD MADE A GOOD BUY,NEVER HEARD OF THE MAKER BEFORE BUT IVE ALWAYS BEEN ONE TO TRY NEW THINGSAND EVEN WITH SHIPPING AND DEALER CHARGESIT WAS RESONABLE..GOT THE GUN 2WEEKS BEFORE DOVE SEASON OPENS HERE IN NORTH FL.,1ST SAT. IN OCT...THIS GUN HAS A SINGLE SELECTIVE TRIGGER,HAS A BUTTON ON THE TRIGGER TO SWITCH THE BARRELLS OVER,EJECTORS, TOOK THE GUN OUT TO MY CLAYS FIELD,LOADED IT UP WITH LOW BRASS NO 8S,SET THE BUTTON TO FIRE THE RIGHT BARRELL FIRST AND LET FLY,DONT REMEMBER WATHER I BROKE THE TARGET OR NOT AND THEN FIRED THE LEFT BARRELL,EVERYTHING FINE..I THEN PUSHED THE BUTTON TO FIRE THE LEFT BARRELL FIRST AND HAD BOTH BARRELLS GO OFF..A STARTLING EXPERIANCE I CAN TELL YOU..ANYWAY I KEEP FOOLING WITH THE GUN,OILED EVERTHING UP GOOD WITH BREAK FREE AND DIDNT HAVE ANYMORE TROUBLE WITH IT, PROBABLY SHOT A BOX OF SHELLS GUN FIT ME PRETTY GOOD AND I GOT COMFORATABLE WITH IT..JUMP TWO WEEKS TO THE DOVE FIELD,HAD SKEET CHOKE IN RIGHT BARR. IMP CLY IN LEFT,SHOT IT SEVERALE TIMES RIGHT BAR. FIRST THEN SWICTHED TO LEFT BAR. AND IT DOUBLED ON ME..CUT MY FINGER PRETTY GOOD, DOVE BLOOD AND MY BLOOD LOOK THE SAME. ANWAY SENT IT TO LOCAL GUN SHOP FOR REPAIR, GOT IT BACK BEFORE DOVE SEASON ENDED(MIDDLE JAN.) WENT TO FIELD WITH IT AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEM(CUT MY FINGER AGAIN..DANG THING) SO PUT IT IN THE SAFE AND FORGOT ABOUT IT,THIS PAST SPRING GOT IT OUT AND SENT IT TO THE DIST. IN MIAMI, THEY REPLACED A BUNCH OF PARTS AND SENT IT BACKTO ME. TOOK IT TO THE PRACTICE FIELD AND IT SHOT FINE FORE 6 SHOTS THEN..THEN..THEN IT SHOT THE RIGHT BARR. FIRST BUT WOULD NOT FIRE THE LEFT BARR.>AAAAGGGGRRR< so this time i took the gun apart myself(just the but stock off so i could see the inerds)from what i can tell both hammers are cocking but the only way to fire the second barr. is to move the barr. selector button to that barr...rubbing my bald head in frustration...so now i dont know what to do give up or what..and to top it all off im now having alot of trouble with my legs so my mobility is going to pot to. anybody got any ideas???

Well...that sucks! I normally tell people that these are fine guns (especially for the money) and have had good experiences with them. I hate to say this, but taking it apart might have a voiding effect on warranty. Although you ahve not screwed with anything fromthe sounds of it so you might be OK. I would give the dist. another shot at it, or at least ask them to help you out with the cost of repairs! A double on that light of a gun is really scary and needs to be remedied! Make them make good on it!

ive found in my many experiences that guns that start screwing up on you about 80% of them just keep on doin it. sounds like the gun smith had his shot at it! i stopped going to smiths years ago because i found that i could mess the gun up just as good as they can. study it real good, try to fix it yourself and if you have no luck, take it to the next show and make somebody else happy? 0 -
Nearly all imported economy-priced firearms are nicer looking on the outside than on the inside.Roughly machined parts do not make for smoothe operaing.A good 'smith should be able to do some cleaning up and make it work correctly I would think,but if you have to ship it to be worked on the value of the gun is rapidly eaten up.(hope that made sense)
I would suggest you contact a local cowboy shooting organization and ask who the local shotgun ghuru is.These guys shoot a lot of import shotguns and nearly always have em smoothed out for competition.

Yes, that sounds frustrating.
My advice is to go back to the distributor. They should make good on their shotgun and if not, then they should suffer the consequences (bad reputation, bad recommendations, ultimate loss of sales)for making a crappy gun. If anybody is going to make it work they should be the ones to do it. I very clearly express my frustration to them in a letter about how this shotgun has functioned and suggest that if they cannot effect the proper repairs, then they need to replace the gun.
I would not feel good about selling my problem to unsuspecting buyer.

thanks for all threplys fellas, i think what ill do is put the gun in the safe until next winter-er summer, if you live in the deep south our summer is everbody elses summer. you stay in the house where you can control the climate...miserable down here in june-july..illtry fixing it myself,ive got about all the money in this gun that i want to spend..i here you heavyirons, i dont like getting somebody elses probamlys either.....theres a web site called-old irons- where the talk about working on these sxs, but there doulbe trigers...thanks again.. 0 -

Take it back where you got it. Tell them to repair it to your satisfaction or replace it! Remind them of how a court would view this if someone was to get hurt because of a manufacture's flaw.
