Iconoclast Help Me Out
I just came across some .303 British rounds in these cardboard wedge like boxes. Some are marked Armour Piercing made for R.A.F. Is it leagal to sell or trade these. I was told you can not sell Metal piercing rounds. Thanks for your time.

Teak will be along shortly, but in the meantime. I believe the restriction is on pistol ammo, so the rifle ammo you have should be OK (state/local laws may differ).
FWIW Most of the Surplus 8mm Mauser ammo I've seen has had a tungston penatrator buit in.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -
snickers, depends on your state / municipal laws. These are legal as far as Federal law is concerned. If you are in Chicago, for example, est ist verboten. On the other hand, if you live in the United States, there should be no problem. You can find out by looking up the laws pertaining to your own state on the ATF web site.

Tailgunner, the German ball ammo from the last year or so of the war is semi-AP with a mild steel core (blue PA), tungsten core loads are actually pretty scarce, more typically found in WW I and the 1930s than later. I'm speaking in generalities on the latter rounds because I've not had enough coffee to move me away from the 'puter, but that's the gist of it.

The cores I'm speaking of were recovered (by friends) from fired, surplus Turkish ball ammo (no ID colors seen). A lot of which (Turk Surp) has been on the market for the last couple of years.
This may be considered Semi-AP ammo, I don't know.

Bob, I have no data on the Turkish loadings; it might well have tungsten cores. When someone speaks of 7.92x57 loadings I tend to focus on the German pre-1946 material rather than those rounds loaded in other nations, especially that produced after the war or by nations allegedly neutral in the war.
