Worldwide availability of cartridges?
What cartridges are the most readily available worldwide today (and for the foreseeable future) for rifle? handgun? shotgun?

308 Winchester and 223 Rem for the rifles, 9mm for the pistol and 12 gauge for the shotguns. I base this on the longevity and number of countries producing guns and ammo in these loadings. Just my take on it.

30-06, 303Brit, 7.62x39 and 5.45x39 will be found just about anywhere. 30-06 and 375H&H are probably the most commonly available hunting cartridges worldwide.
The 9mm and 2-3/4" 12ga are fairly universal.
The need for a "Mangle-um" cartridge is a Americian thing.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -
Along with the previously mentioned cartridges, these are found in most parts of the world.
