Llama 22 mini 1911

I saw a Llama 22 cal pistol.I think it's called "especial" looks like a mini 1911.Anyone have any experience with these?Guy wants 225.00 for it and it looks to be in nice shape.I always wanted a Colt Ace but I would need a co-signer for one of those,so this is as close as I'll get.Any opinions? I've heard both good and bad about the brand but nothing about this particular model.

  I bought one of these last year as a collector piece. I shot it about 200 rounds with no problems except for 1-2 jams.(stovepipes). It works and looks just like a scaled down 1911 .45 with a rib.
  In my area (NC), I see these occasionally for sale in the $200 range. They are a bit hard to find if you happen to be looking for one. I prefer a Ruger, S&W, or a Browning autoloader for day-to-day shooting. I don't know how the Llama will hold up to heavy use. Again, I bought mine for my collection, not as a shooter. I'd also like to know what experiences others have had with extended firing, reliability, etc.

  The Llama "Especial's" were chambered in .32 &.380. If the pistol your inquiring about is a .22 it's the Llama Model XV ( Llama identified most of their different models by Roman Numerals ).
  
  Llama always had a really spotty reputation as far as quality control was concerned. My 2 Cents is to be sure and test fire it before buying it, with the .22 ammo you intend to use in it. As it's no longer imported, it might be difficult to get repairs done or obtain spare parts.

  I have had several and liked them. The older ones are superior to the newer. The oldest have a lanyard ring in the butt. Later it was dropped. The newest have the slide serrations on a diagonal as on a Gold Cup. You are better off with the older ones that have VERTICAL serrations. Metal is relatively soft on all.

  I've got one and was able to find parts at Numrich. Nice little gun.
