Home Refinish Process

I have just finished building my 1911 frame from a 40% casting, everything fits and works, but I'm now looking for a finish I can apply at home. On past discussion topics I recall reading about a method to use Teflon paint and then "bake" it, this was similar to the process used in one of the Bownell kits. I'd like to make the frame Red (I know, who would make a frame red?).

Any recommendations would be appreciated.
