Rock Island 1911/.38 Super
Any comments, critiques advaice on this line of pistols. I'm looking at a 1911/.38 uper and the prices of the pistols are almost half the cost of a Spfld Armory or Colt

I think they are OK but as is true so much of the time..."you get what you pay for" or "if it seems too good to be true, it probably IS too good to be true"! They are a nice little workmanlike gun and I have heard few substantiable complaints about them, although I would save up for something in the Rock River line, especially if you want a 38 Super!

I would save up and buy a 1911 that is made in the U.S.A If you ever want to upgrade or buy a 45 top half or even a 22 conversion unit most asia en gun are will not take standard size parts. quote:Praise the hardball gun" 0 -
I've been hearing alot of good stuff about the .45 version. Give the .38 super a try and let us know.
They had a nice reveiw of the 45 versions over at the Falfiles
